“This is the quality of guava we aim to produce on our farm, following the same standards used in Egypt. The picture below is from our family farm, where the crop was prepared for export and shipped from Alexandria Airport to Moscow, Russia.”. (Grade A)

Let’s compare the two types of guavas commonly found in the U.S. market that people eat every day.
First, the guava sold in the U.S. is considered a low-quality variety. In Egypt, it’s called “falling,” and farmers typically feed it to cows, sheep, or horses. If a farmer doesn’t own any animals, they mix this type of guava with other materials and soil to use it as compost.
It’s a shame that people in the U.S.A. are eating these types of guavas, which are imported from Mexico or other countries in South America.
In ancient Egyptian thought, a nation forfeited its independence the moment it relied on others for its sustenance. Agriculture, they held, was the primary pillar of civilization—preceding industry and serving as the cornerstone of sustainable development. Through this dedication to self-sufficiency, Egypt was able to support the ancient world for seven consecutive years.
“After the project’s initiation, our team will develop a research and experimentation center, similar to our established facilities in Egypt, to conduct controlled field trials and breed guava varieties with enhanced cold tolerance. The aim is to transition guava from a tropical species intolerant of mild cold into one capable of thriving in approximately 40% of U.S. states characterized by temperate, snow-free climates. This center will constitute a significant advancement in guava improvement, continuing our family’s 219-year history in Egypt of adapting guava from its tropical origins to Mediterranean environments.”
Let us work to strengthen American agriculture. Together, we can ensure a more secure and prosperous future.
“These findings have motivated us to carefully develop our project since 2018.”
